IV. All have the written name of Revd. Arthur Newcombe, Abbeyleix Glebe, on front endpapers. The book was first published in 1789, and this is a scarce set. Campbell, 1719-1796, was a Scottish Presbyterian Theologian, a Professor and Principal of Marischal College Aberdeen. His critical and explanatory notes add to the work's value. As an authority on Rhetoric Campbell offers many memorable passages throughout.
