Half leather and marbled boards, five compartmented spine, with gilt-decorated raised bands, and original label. The essays are: WC Westlake - What is Truth?; John T Rice - The Christian Priesthood; W Pollard - Primitive Christianity Revived; Isaac Brown - Gospel Principles; Richard Westlake - Life and its Discipline; T Pumphrey - Joseph Sturge, The Christian Citizen; John T Rice - Christian Baptism; Isaac Brown - The Lord's Supper; WC Westlake - The Christian Heritage; WC Westlake - Daniel Wheeler, The Christian Missionary; W Pollard - Congregational Worship; Anna D Peet - Influences of the Holy Spirit; Isaac Brown - The Purposes of the Coming of Christ; and WC Westlake - Gospel Ministry. The last two pages of the final pamphlet are a "Conclusion", by WC Westlake. The front paste-down bears the bookplate of John Bewley Beale, 1832 - 1910.
