Williamson, Dr GC: Signed Enamel Miniatures of the XVIIth, XVIIIth & XIXth Centuries. , London: Jacob Nachemsohn, 1926.(vi) + 44pp (+ coloured frontospiece and 12 plates). 25 x 18.5 cm. This is number 392 of a limited edition of 500 copies of a catalogue of the signed miniatures in the collection of Jacob Nachemsohn (1894-), collector and patron of the arts. The catalogue is in three parts: a seventeen-page introduction by Dr GC Williamson, twelve plates ("Frames") with accompanying letterpress, and eleven pages of biographies of enamellers. The number below each illustration, which relates the illustration to the description opposite, is very small, and the numbers do not always read from left to right. A previous owner has, therefore, neatly enlarged the numbers in ink, writing beside each the name of the enameller concerned - a rare useful defacement of a book. Slight darkening to spine, slight wear to spine extremeties, previous owner's name neatly written on ffep, and slight spotting to title page. This is not an ex-library copy. (Book ref. 13565) £25.00 The payment methods accepted by the seller, Saintfield Antiques & Fine Books , are shown in the right-hand column. |
