Large 8vo 0715812467 Hunt's 'British Mining' originally published in 1884 is the single most important work to have been written on the history of metalliferrous mining in Great Britain. This reprint is of the first 'Book' of Hunts work (from the 1887 2nd edition), which gives the history of mining up to the end of the 18th century, plus the appendiices of mining returns. A full reprint of the work has never been published and the original editions are now extremely rare (and expensive). c.200pp. VG copy in slightly worn dw. Uncommon even in this reprinted form.
