23.5 x 31.5 cm. Quarter bound in cloth and patterned paper boards derived from an original design by the artist. Housed in a slipcase. 71pp. 18 tipped in plates & 38 blocks. One of 150 copies of this edition printed. The type is Modern No. 7 set at Whittington by Peter "The Raven" Sanderson. The paper is Magnani avorio Biblos, and the book was bound by Smith Settle, Otley. The tipped in reproductions were printed in Sheffield by J. W. Northend Fine Print. The book is based on wood engravings left in the artists studio at his death in 1954. The blocks in the studio were ones he had just finished or was in the process of engraving as well as those for which he had not finished pulling the final edition. This volume represents the fourth on Buckland Wright from the Fleece Press and contains the "free" or autonomous prints not published in the previous volumes, book illustrations, commercial work and designs for cards, announcements and publishers marks. Also included is a descriptive account of all the rejected and unfinished blocks in the artists studio, and a description and printed examples of JBW's experiments with colour printing, culminating in the two engravings "The Blue Dress" 1952 and "The Red Room" 1952; he was in the process of finishing the latter at the time of his death.
