4to, pp.[194] + 12 chromolitho plates. Each page printed with red ruled surround. Brilliant flower pictures, the strong colours somewhat reminiscent of Victorian Berlin wool-work. Orig. dk green cloth dec. black and gilt, a.e.g. A heavy book with plates printed on heavy card. A couple of leaves loose and some of the plates are consequently darkened and sl. chipped at edges. An interesting example of the genre, however, with autographs at appropriate dates by several hands. BLC gives the date as [1880] but this copy is inscribed 'Xmas 1879'. (Book ref. 1916)  £55.00
