NSTC lists two imprints before this one but with different titles: Martin Toutrond; a Frenchman in London in 1831 (1840), and Martin Toutrond; a Frenchman in London in 1831. Translated from an unpublished French ms. (1849). This is the first imprint showing the author's name. The work is classified as topography or travel, but it reads like a work of fiction.
