1st thus, 4to, pp. 228. Orig. brown cloth bevelled boards, richly gilt, bound by Leighton, Son and Hodge, a.e.g. Gilt a little dulled and light foxing of early and end leaves, else a v.gd copy. A prize label on the front paste-down is inscribed to William Durham, and a ms note beneath it says 'The said William Durham is immortalized as the "Lad o' Pairts" in "Beside the Bonnie Briar Bush" by Ian McLaren.'
