Orig. purple blind-stamped ripple-grained cloth, faded to brown over spine and edges. Small nick at foot of spine, lacks half-title, o/w a good copy. Slipped in is an engraved title-page of another edition, or possibly of the 52 part publication of 1850[?]. According to NSTC this historical novel was first published in 1848/49. This copy however measures 21 cm, the measurement shown for the 1850[?] edition. Not in Sadleir or Wolff. (Book ref. 3547)  £45.00
