pp.339 + 8 advs dated 1887. Orig. brown cloth with front cover gilt vignette of a watchful eye, and the legend "We Never Sleep". Front inner hinge cracked but tight. The title-page and frontispiece have ragged edges. Paper browned and a couple of gatherings have started. Spine dulled with minor wear at foot. Overall, however, a presentable copy of primary interest for its content. This appears to be a new impression of the first edition of 1882. Not apparently in NSTC. (Book ref. 3811)  £32.00
