FUNNIDOS (Rigdum, Gent.): The Comic Almanack for 1837: An Ephemeris in Jest and Earnest, Containing "All Things Fitting for such a Work". Adorned with a dozen of "Right Merrie" cuts, pertaining to the months, and an hieroglyphic, by George Cruikshank. , London: Imprinted for Charles Tilt, [1836];pp. 64 + 4 pp. prospectus of the Naturalist's Library, with a hand-coloured plate of an antelope. Pages 7-10 are bound in out of order. Bound in early plum-coloured ripple-grained cloth without title. In very good condition. Wonderful illustrations. Cohn 184. This copy does not have the 16 pp. advs. unnumbered as called for by Cohn, and the 4 pp. prospectus does not have the 4 pp. buff paper printed wrapper he mentions. However, it does have the coloured plate - "this plate is often missing, but perfect copies should always contain it." I can find no explanation of the author's (surely pseudonymous) name.
