Grey illustrated cloth covers, depicting sled dogs in the snow running toward a town in the distance with black titling to front cover and spine, no dustjacket. Frontispiece "A Distinguished Visitor: Commander Peary and Dr. Grenfell on the deck of the 'Roosevelt' on the former's return from the Pole." This is a collection from six periodicals of 14 sketches by the 'Labrador Doctor.' He has fascinating stories to tell about the natives, the sailors, fishermen, the climate and his doctoring. The author was a medical missionary to Newfoundland and Labrador who founded the International Grenfell Association and was knighted by King George V in recognition of his services.
