Hurley was the photographer on the ‘Endurance’. Hurley, an absolutely superb photographer, went South with both Shackleton and Mawson. Hurley raised expedition photography to a new level. These scenic studies he integrated into the documentation of the expedition. Spence 615, Renard 768, Conrad p.205.
