1st edn., 189pp inc. 14 half tone plates, 14 folding maps, erratum, coloured decorated front endpaprs, coloured rear endpapers, large format (10.5 x 7.5 inches approx.), black cloth lettered in gilt at spine, gilt 'rampant boar' motif on upper board, half tone pictorial dustwrapper, an account of the progress of the British Army's XXX (30, Thirty) Corps through Northern Europe, from the intial D-Day assault by 50th Infantry Division, he flail tanks of 79th Armoured and by evening the 7th Armoured Division on Gold beach in Normandy, followed four days later by 49th Division, the account relates the Corps's progress and describes many individual unit actions and combats, from the Normandy beach-head through northern France and Belgium, across Holland (Operation Market Garden) and into Germany to Bremen and the Baltic coast, with a brief diversion stemming the counter attack from the Ardennes along the way, under the command for most of the way of Lt. General Brian Horrocks, a little rubbed at extrems., a little bumped at head of spine, light foxing upper edge, small Divisional and Corps emblems pasted to front endpapers, dustwrapper: well rubbed with several creases and tears, large triangular cvhip lower edge of fornt panel, repaired to reverse, very good in a poor dustwrapper, (Book ref. 40887)  £30.00
