1st edn., xii, 167pp, half tone photo frontis, 7 half tone plates, facsimile and line drawings in text, dark blue cloth lettered in gilt upper board, decorative border in blind at upper board, fore and lower edges uncut, a memoir of Edward Teshmaker Busk, the eldest son of the author and a pioneer in aircraft design and flight, with detail of his life, experiments and work at the Royal Aircraft Factory mainly on aircraft stability, being one of the first to apply scientific methods to the research before being killed in a flying incident in November, 1914, with copies of letters about his life and work sent to the family after his death and about the posthumous award of the Aeronautical Society's gold medal, together with a brief memoir of her youngest son and Edward's youngest brother Hans Acworth Busk, missing presumed killed while serving with the Royal Naval Air Service after a bombing mission at Gallipoli in January, 1916, rubbed and bumped at extrems., some fraying to cloth at tips, cloth a little marked, edges tanned, small ownership label front free endpaper, no dustwrapper, good, (Book ref. 41154)  £25.00
