First Edition Copper plate Engraving of :- A New and Accurate Map of Italy, Drawn from the Latest Best Authorities and Most Approved Maps: The Whole being regulated by Astron(omical) Observations. Uncoloured map, plate measures 230 x 325 mm., whole page 255 x 400mm., includes, the whole of Italy, part of Turky in Europe, Africa and Germany, the Islands of Cosica and Sardinia, compass rose and title cartouche with text and illustration of Roman ruins and Catholic Bishop, lower part of map has two vignettes with text and illustrations of volcanoes - Mount Etna and Vesuvius. Text section on Italy pps.803 - 908, mild marginal foxing, with some marking to upper margins, text clean and unaffected. Map has light marginal foxing with single spot (2mm.) on Coast of Sardinia, otherwise clear, VG copy (Book ref. 9510)  £225.00
