Arnold, C.: A Handbook on Squash Racquets , London: Athletic Publication, not dated (but 1926)7.5 x 5 inches, 19 x 12.5 cms, 16 pages of introduction, 64 pages of main text containing records up to 1925, 22 full-page sepia photographic illustrations, 5 pages of advertisements for squash-related equipment at the end. Original stiff brown card covers as issued by the publisher bearing the title "A Handbook on Squash Racquets" whilst the title page shows "The Game of Squash Racquets", the title by which the book was to become known in its later printings. A very good example of probably the earliest coaching book solely on squash. The author Arnold was professional at London's Bath Club, a leading sports-themed London gentlemen's club in Dover Street. The book also contains a printed (facsimile) personal note from Edward, the then Prince of Wales (later to abdicate as Edward VII) - a rare instance of open Royal endorsement of a commercial product.
