Frontis, xvi, 288p + errata slip. Spotting to frontis and endpapers. Text pages clean and unmarked. Oval stamp of 'Colonial College' to front endpaper and verso of frontis. Original boards detached. Bernard Barton (1784-1849) came from a family of Quakers and was known as the 'Quaker Poet'. His elder sister was the writer Maria Hack to whom the 'Introductory Verses' in the current volume are addressed. 'Poems' was his first and only commercial venture. The engraving, by J. Hawksworth, is 'View from the Warren Hills'. Uncommon. (Book ref. wb11732)  £40.00
