Illustrated with a few coloured plates containing 32 coloured figures and 161 woodcuts supporting the plate. Bound in original cloth with red and black decorative front board and spine - a little rubbed and slight toning to the spine strip. Some scattered soiling to the rear board and light bumps to the head and tail of the spine and to one board corner. Foxing to the fore edges and to several pages at the front and rear of the book ( mainly the contents and index). tear of 4 cm to the lower margin of pp 81, no loss. The book remains firm and tight with only the odd other page having light scattered foxing - the rest being clean. A good plus copy.
