Fine engraved map with attractive title cartouche. Attractive with very large margins. Fine condition. 12 x 8.5" Re-engraved by Van der Aa in 1729 after the version by Mortier published in 1702. The coastal outline is based on Roggeveen's 1675 map. At the entrance of the harbor is a watch tower,which according to the text would fly as many flags as foreign ships as had been spotted in the vicinity. Decorative cartouche with the original name of Havana,which in full was San Cristóbal de la Habana. (Book ref. WINMP0239 )  £ 175.00
