First Edition Thus. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. 8vo. Hardback, 135mm x 200mm tall (5.25" x 8" approx.). Pp xxxvii, (viii), 287, + pp (i), 307-352 with text figs. + 58pp of plates, their descriptions and the Errata leaf and a folding plate. Fine, in the original leather-effect calendered tan cloth-covered boards/gilt-on-red spine title with gilt bands, and with the very slightly dusty but otherwise very good and unclipped, illustrated dust-wrapper. The full title is "Joseph Moxon's Mechanick Exercises or, the Doctrine of Handy-Works Applied to the Arts of Smithing, Joinery, Carpentry, Turning, Bricklaying, To which is added Mechanick Dyalling: Shewing how to draw a true Sun-Dyal on any given Plane, however scituated (sic); only with the help of a straight Ruler and a pair of Compasses, and without any Arithmetical Calculation". This uncommon Praeger publication is the first reprinting of Mechanick Exercises and Mechanick Dyalling since 1703, and included are six pages from the 1697 Mechanick Dyalling, and eight pages from the 1700 edition of the Exercises (Book ref. 003676 )  £ 150.00
