FIRST EDITION Bound in the publishers dark green ribbed cloth with gilt title lettering to spine and vivid red title lettering to front. First Edition, second state of this magnificent novel about life in the ring and the noble art of the pugilist. Two book labels neatly affixed to front and back fixed endpapers otherwise no inscriptions.The 182 pages remain in fresh, clean condition throughout and are tightly bound. 6pp of advertisements at the back of book. Top edge dyed gilt as published and bottom and front edges of pages are rough cut. Double matching illustrated endpapers to front and rear of book. Black and brown illustrations throughout plus six excellent colour plates including colour frontispiece all in very presentable condition with vibrant colour tone. Pages are made from a very good quality, card like paper. Book sits solid and square. Light marks and rubbing to binding otherwise this is a solid, clean copy of a heart rending Jack London novel.
