The Rare Book Shelf

Greene, Graham Nineteen Stories , London, United Kingdom: William Heinemann, 1947.

First Edition. Very Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall FIRST EDITION Bound in the publishers original black cloth with silver title lettering to the spine. All pages are present and correct and are tightly bound. Previous owners name to fly leaf remains discreet. Book sits solid and square. Silver title lettering to spine remains sharp and legible. Graham Greene did not consider himself to be a short story writer of any great ability but anyone who has had the pleasure of reading this collection of nineteen excellent pieces of writing would surely beg to differ ! Eight of these stories have appeared before in a very early Graham Greene title called 'The Basement Room' but the remaining eleven appear here in book form for the first time. Overall signs of wear and handling but a very decent copy nontheless. A feast of stories from one of the worlds most gifted writers showing his great talent and versatility ! (Book ref. 000947 )  £ 49.50
