The Rare Book Shelf

Yates, Richard Eleven Kinds Of Loneliness , Boston, USA: Little, Brown and Company, 1962.

First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall FIRST EDITION Bound in the publishers original apple green cloth with black title lettering to spine. 230pp. This is Richard Yates second book and is, as the title suggests a collection of eleven short stories about the strange and emotional feeling that is loneliness. All pages are present and correct with previous owners label to the front pastedown. Certainly this is a near fine copy which remains in very presentable condition. Green cloth binding is very clean and unmarked. Housed in the matching green dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Light wear to the head and heel of spine with a tad of scuffing to the front panel. A very good example of the dustwrapper. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. A very nice copy indeed of the authors second book. As Richard Yates forgotten work once more rises to prominece and is given the due recognition it most surely deserves so does his earlier works become more scarce in the first edition. A most presentable copy of a remarkable collection of stories that is rather difficult to encounter in this condition. (Book ref. 000980 )  £ 195.00
