The Rare Book Shelf

Francis, Dick Rat Race , London: Michael Joseph, 1970.

First Edition. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall FIRST EDITION Bound in the publishers turquoise green boards with gilt title lettering to spine. This is the first impression of the first edition. All pages are present and correct with previous owners name to ffep. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. A very decent copy inside and out. Housed in the Very Good dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Light creasing to the edges and overall signs of handling commensurate with age otherwise a nice example of the famous dustwrapper. The first glass of wine I have ever seen with a free Cesna light aircraft floating inside it ! Mind you, first of all you have to get past the gun placed rather menacingly on the top of the glass. One wonders what the second glass might produce ? A full size replica of the QE2 perhaps ! Dustwrapper now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. A very presentable Dick Francis first edition copy which is becoming inexplicably scarce of late. (Book ref. 000981 )  £ 69.50
