The Rare Book Shelf

Johns, Captain W.E. Biggles' Second Case , London, United Kingdom: Hodder and Stoughton, 1948.

Illustrated by Stead. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall FIRST EDITION Bound in the publishers cream cloth with contrasting green title lettering to spine and illustration to front board. A first printing. This is a very clean copy with no inscriptions. Unusually there is virtually no foxing. A very tidy copy inside and out. Housed in the typically adventurous looking Stead designed dustwrapper depicting classic aviation as well as a nautical twist to the front panel and spine. Publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Small chips to the corners and head and tail of spine. Light general edgewear, but a lovely example nontheless of the colourful dustwrapper. Now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Becoming rather scarce. (Book ref. 001119 )  £ 75.00
