Blyton, Enid Five Go To Smuggler's Top *Gillian Baverstock's copy* , London, United Kingdom: Hodder and Stoughton, 1945.

Illustrated by Eileen Soper. First Edition. Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall FIRST EDITION A very interesting association copy with some excellent Enid Blyton family provenance having been part of Enid Blyton's daughter's private collection. Enid Blyton's daughter is Gillian Baverstock and the book has her name to the front free pictoral endpaper. This is a Good copy which has quite a lot of marking and wear to the blue cloth boards. The contents however, are entirely complete and in surprisingly bright condition, with all pages present and correct, as well as all illustrations. Lightly marked to pages edges but overall the book is holding well considering its great age. Housed in the Very Good dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. The dustwrapper which is in the first edition format is from a later impression and was added to the book at a later date by Gillian Baverstock. Aside from some light wear to the edges the dustwrapper remains resplendant and bright. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Provenance: Gillian Baverstock, Enid Blyton's daughter, Hartley's Auctioneers, 15th September 2010. The Enid Blyton Archive: Lot 332 (part) (Book ref. 001134 )  £ 265.00
