The Rare Book Shelf

Bowles, Jane Plain Pleasures , London, United Kingdom: Peter Owen, 1966.

First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall FIRST EDITION This is the first printing of this uncommon collection of short stories by the wife of the celebrated beat poet and writer Paul Bowles. A sharp and tight copy bound in the publishers original pale grey boards with gilt title lettering to spine. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions. Housed in the vivid dustwrapper designed by Keith Cunningham. Lightly rubbed and slightly dusty overall, but a nice example of the dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Jane Bowles was an accomplished and stylish novelist and this collection of short stories certainly reflects that. (Book ref. 001145 )  £ 74.00
