The Rare Book Shelf

Crompton, Richmal Just William's Luck , London, United Kingdom: George Newnes Limited, 1955.

Illustrated by Thomas Henry. Fourth Impression. Fine/Very Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall Fourth Impression A very clean and bright copy inside and out. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions or foxing and are tightly bound. Stated fourth impression on the verso of the title page. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. Housed in the delightful Thomas Henry Dustwrapper which is neatly priceclipped. Old fashioned illustrated sweet shop scene to the front panel as William looks disapprovingly at the pitiful amount of money in hand and his dog looks hopefully at the tantalising selection of goodies in the window. Another classic William scheme about to be put forth into action ? I think so ! Dustwrapper remains very bright and clean. There are two small hairline tears to the head of spine at the folds. Dustwrapper completely unrestored with no repairs and hence scarce thus. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Shows very well on the shelf. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available at your request. An inexpensive and attractive alternative to that elusive and expensive first impression perhaps ? (Book ref. 001151 )  £ 73.00
