NARJOUX, Felix. Notes & Sketches Of An Architect taken during a journey in the North-West of Europe. By Felix Narjoux. Translated from the French by John Peto. , Sampson Low 1876.

First English Edition, blue cloth gilt. Thick roy.8vo, c.pp420, neat 19thC armorial bookplate on endpaper. With 10 full-page engraved plates + 204 text illustrations. Unusually bright attractive copy. Unusual travelogue, the text entirely taken up with descriptions of the constructed environment - landscape and buildings - rather than run-of-the mill journey details. The illustrations show buildings: elevations, plans, decorative details & furnishings: and also infrastructure details such as a Dutch moveable bridge, a Danish lifeboat station, a railway ferry pontoon. Fine attractive copy of a scarce book. (Book ref. 4683 )  £ 121.00
