Beautifully illustrated with full-page Plates by Alfred Parsons. Frontispiece has a lovely illustration of " Phyllostachys Nigra" from an old Japanese Drawing, Protected by tissue guard. Title Page Dated 1896. Ivory cloth cover with Gilt Bamboo & Bird illustration on front. Gilt Lettering on spine. Top Page Edges Gilt, Fore & Bottom page edges Rough Cut. 224 Pages + adverts. 700g, 9" Tall. Some soiling to cover and fraying at bottom of spine (see photo). Spine tanned. Some brown discolouring to endpapers ( perhaps something pressed on them). Hinges sound & Binding firm. Pages and Plates in very good, clean condition, only an occasional small spot of foxing.
