Includes "Several Hundreds of New Recipes For French, German, Italian, American, Australian and Indian Cookery." Attractive copy of this much loved Cookery Classic. Contemporary Dark Red Leather Spine with Gilt Decoration (including Cow, Sheep, Fish & Meat platter Vignettes) and Lettering. Green cloth boards Well illustrated throughout with Full-Page Plates in Colour & B&W, including 2 Colour Fold-Out Plates. Frontispiece Foldout shows a large Dining Table set for Dinner. Title Page and Frontis followed by Preface to New Edition, Preface to First Edition, General Contents, Analytical Index, then the very substantial Contents and Several pages of publisher's adverts at the rear. 1644 Pages, 7 3/4" Tall. Slight wear to leather with a small closed tear at bottom corner of spine. (see photo) Some wear to tips of front corners. Previous owner's inscription penciled on ffep and an embossed address above.. Rear Hinge cracked & reinforced with white hinge tape, and a crack to binding between ffep and frontis.. Title Page has a very small closed tear at fore edge (1/8".) Pages in nice, clean condition. Book weighs 1.6 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra.
