A Naturalist Rambles Among the Channel Islands , London: Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge.First Edition. Cloth. Very Good. Nd. [1855] Seemingly a first edition as it has 386pp and not 368pp as the second edition has (pages of first edition not stated on BL site although number of pages coresponds to those listed as being 1855 on COPAC). It contains the appendix by F. C. Lukis consisting of Letters on the natural history of the Channel Islands previously published in newspaper form. 6 full page illustrationsall present but technically only the frontis and opening illustration are plates as the others are integral to the book. Original blindstamped and gilt decorated boards are worn, especially to extremities, and the spine ends and corners are bumped. Internally the hinges are lightly cracked but still holding solid. A suprisingly uncommon book.. Postage will be confirmed when you enquire or order and for light or very heavy books will vary from the ABE quote which is based on a 1kg parcel. (Book ref. 002686 ) £ 80.00 The payment methods accepted by the seller, The Book Business , are shown in the right-hand column. |
