pp. i-vi, xi-xiv, 9-347 + 36 cat. Orig. green cloth w. gilt dec., almost half the book unopened. Paper split at rear hinge but the hinge itself quite tight; corners bumped, o/w a good copy. A well illustrated biography, including facsimile letters, etc. The pagination is odd but I cannot see that any content is missing. After page vi two leaves have been neatly torn out leaving a stub. Why the text starts at page 9 is not clear. Possibly this derived from the revision and enlargement of the previous edition. (Book ref. 3235 )  £ 36.00
