First edition, second issue. Illustrated with 3 b&w plates, inner hinges neatly repaired. 250pp, including a blank printed form for a sportsman's journal, plus 4pp of adverts of sporting goods dealers of New York and Philadelphia. The only difference between the first and second issue is the correction of the mis-spelling of the word 'Ribbon' on p. 235, probably caught and corrected during the print run. With moderate foxing throughout, very good in contemporary binding. A very scarce book. Riling. 415. '...the first comprehensive treatise on the subject'. Not found by either Schwerdt or Chute.
