[Savile, Albany].: Thirty-Six Hints to Sportsmen. , OKEHAMPTON: Simmons, n.d. [circa. 1830?].A small (12mo) booklet of 18 pages, bound in the original marbled stitched wraps, housed in a custom-made cloth covered folder. From the sporting library of the Duke of Gloucester, with his bookplate. A very rare treatise on hare hunting, in a series of numbered hints to both the huntsman and the whipper-in of hare hounds. Schwerdt Vol. II. p.148 gives the publication date as circa 1825, however, checking Okehampton printers in the 19th century, Simmons did not start operating until 1830. This is only the second work in English solely relating to Hare Hunting. The advice given in this fascinating and rare item is as applicable today as it was at the time of publication.
