First edition, 2nd issue(?). Coloured frontispiece portrait of the author and dogs. This copy lacks the 6 engraved shooting plates by Medland after Bell and West. The suppressed pages 215 to 220 are ignored in this printing. The one page 225/226 is missing as 'normal' (this is a pagination error and does not affect the text). Bound in modern half-morocco. Apart from the missing plates this is a nice copy of a very scarce book. Schwerdt Vol II, p.258 & Vol IV, p.93. Chute 632. Priced accordingly, the last complete copy we sold for £800.
