Superb frontispiece of classical hunting scene engraved after Gravelot. The poem is in Four Books, each preceded by an Argument setting out the contents. Somervile came from an old country family in Warwickshire but was educated at Winchester and Oxford. However, he returned to the country life and started to write verse.
