Hall, John Inglis.: How to fish a Highland Stream (The Truim). , LONDON: Putnam, 42 Great Russell Street, 1960.

First Edition. Bound in original green cloth gilt, with d/w (creased but flatened and now contained within protective cover, unclipped). 119pp with Map and a few diagrams by Fred Taylor. Internals very clean apart from a couple of pencil marks (under-lining). This title has been reprinted on a number of occasions, principally by Viking in 1987. This 'book came to be more than a picture of just one aspect of the healing art of fishing, drawing instead a portrait of a moment in past time in which a rived, and a place of remote beauty and its people, became, in the author's phrase, 'flies caught in my amber'. A classic of Highland fishing, scarce and sought after in the original edition. (Book ref. 841 )  £ 60.00
