Crealock, Henry Hope.: Stalking Sketches. Amhuinnsuidhe in the 1880's (and a few more). , SHAP: David A. H. Grayling, 2009.

First Edition. No 19. of 24 copies (the main edition was limited to just 300 copies). Signed by the publisher with a small sketch of the head of a red deer hind by Ian Oates (completed just prior to his death in July 2010). Bound in full dark red morocco gilt with matching marbled endpapers. 46 ink sketches and coloured plates, with the artist's notes and comments, some of them very amusing. Introduction by the late the Honourable Ronald Eden. Landscape format, oblong 4to. This new collection of Crealock drawings was discovered by Grayling several years ago, and at the time he decided to scan all the pictures, add a few more, and publish another Crealock title. Most of the sketches were produced on the back of Amhuinnsuidhe notepaper while he was staying as a guest of the owner of the time - Sir Edward Scott, a London banker. This is the first time a Crealock sporting title has been produced with coloured plates of his sketches. It is a wonderful insight into the sporting life of the time. This delightful addition to the Crealock library is destined to become a sought after collectors item. (Book ref. 938 )  £ 360.00
