This work is a continuation of, and makes a proper sequel to, The Political History of the last Seven Years; many hints being given, and plates executed, by the same masters; whose well known abilities the public are too well acquainted with to pay any regard to copyists and vain pretenders in the political way. This second title contains 35 plates on Scottish matters. The first two are trimmed to the engraved margin and have been laid down on prints apparently not belonging to this publication. Very good copies of scarce title. Matthew (aka Matthias) Darly and his wife Mary were the foremost caricaturists of their day. These bi-annual publications were selective compilations of their political caricatures. From the library of Douglas Grant with his label to front pastedown. (Book ref. wb11431 )  £ 750.00
