William Wyndham Grenville, Baron Grenville. Substance of the speech of the Right Hon. Lord Grenville, in the House of Lords, November 30, 1819, on the Marquis of Lansdowne’s motion, that a Select Committee be appointed to inquire into the state of the country, and more particularly into the distresses and discontents prevalent in the manufacturing districts, and the execution of the laws with respect to the numerous meetings which have taken place. , 4th ed. London: John Murray, 1820.

8vo: 62p. Disbound copy, with first three leaves detached, browning to half-title, and occasional foxing. Of interest as a copy of a member of the ‘Holland House Circle’. There is an armorial-type bookplate, of a crown over a civet like animal, with a printed ‘Holland House’ at the bottom and a hand-written name, unfortunately now illegible. There are extensive comments and rebuttals in a contemporary hand along the page margins, some of which have been folded-in – unfolded they are larger than the page size, suggesting this may be a proof copy. (Book ref. wb11518 )  £ 20.00
