Please ask for details of the cheapest available option before placing an order. Hardback, 230mm x 312mm tall (9" x 12.25" tall approx.) Pp xv, 308 + 8pp adverts, plus 19 [of 20] colour plates. Light rub to head of spine; lacking colour-plate number 16, and with a tear-without loss to one leaf. Otherwise good, in the original decorated boards. The (usually lacking) loose folding template sheet, called for in respect of the 'Swan Gondola' on page 256, is present and, although a little rubbed and worn, still useable. (Book ref. 005096)

Very good, in the original quarter light-brown cloth/matching buckram-covered boards/gilt spine title, and with the lightly rubbed but otherwise very good and unclipped, colour-illustrated dust-wrapper. Original binding of gilt & blind-decorated cloth/gilt spine title/all edges gilt with, to the front board, the embossed gilt prize logo of Mr. Hunter's School, Edinburgh and, to the front pastedown, an attractive engraved Prize label awarding the volume in July 1861 to Miss Sarah G.P. Hay of J.P. Class, 1st Division, for writing and dictation. Very light rubs to cloth, and the discreet embossed stamp impression of Keele University to the lower blank margin of the title-leaf. The Index calls for a map "Bounds of the Forest of Mendip", but this was never bound in. Somerset Record Society Volume 45, published for subscribers only. Light occasional spotting and a mark to two pages [book used for a botanical pressing?] otherwise good, in the original black-printed marbled-effect thin brown card covers. Undated but stated in COPAC to be 1930, this uncommon Provincial publication was printed by A. Brown & Sons Ltd. in Hull. (Book ref. 005080)

Pp vii, 211, with figures in the text and with 52 full-page plates, 39 of which are the fine colour-plates for which this work is noted. Withdrawn and sold by Derbyshire College of Higher Education, with a few neat stamp-impressions to the prelims. [none beyond the first page of the Introduction or on the plate leaves]. Original dark-green cloth-covered boards, with an accession number to spine foot and a few minor external rubs. Internally almost fine. Only Volume One was ever published.
