Original red cloth pictorially blocked in black in dustwrapper. All the plain plates have been neatly coloured in crayon as intended; the "This book belongs to" box filled-in. Some small patches of fading where dustwrapper incomplete but overall the binding bright. Some light foxing to text and wrapper. Cracked at two inner gutters but very firm. The dustwrapper with slight fraying at headband and with two inch tear at upper joint, this with loss of approx half a square inch at head. Corners rubbed and with closeable tears at fore-corner of upper panel without loss. Overall a very good example of this the first Rupert annual complete with the rare wrapper. (Book ref. 14541)
