Top and bottom edges are slightly rubbed. 380pp, including bibliography and index. With 21 illustrations. Dorothy Pattison was born in a remote village in the Yorkshire Dales. As Sister Dora, and a member of a pioneer Anglican nursing community, she was sent to a primitive accident hospital in Walsall, England, where her devotion revolutionised the care of workers injured in blast furnaces and mines.
