Civil & Military Gazette, Lahore, [1945] Sm. 8vo., Eighteenth Edition; original red cloth, upper board lettered in black, covers moderately age-soiled (but text remarkably clean and crisp), a very good, clean copy. Neve was surgeon to the Kashmir Medical Mission. His famous Guide, first published in 1887 and severally revised and updated, remained the definitive handbook for over five decades. This is the first edition after WWII, following the seventeenth issue of 1942. (Book ref. 18644)
Joshua Simon, Jerusalem, [1946] 8vo., Fifth Edition, with a frontispiece, 27 plates and 6 maps and plans (5 folding) on brown stock, wanting front free endpaper; original red cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in gilt, upper board lightly age-marked, backstrip lettering faded but legible else a very good, clean copy. With numerous trade advertisements (some illustrated) at front and rear. (Book ref. 20216)
Liverpool Daily Post & Echo Ltd., Liverpool, 1945 Oblong 4to., First Edition, with very numerous photographs (many double-page and full-page) in the text and a large folding plan at end; original pictorial wrappers, sewed as issued, a very good, clean copy. Includes numerous wartime views, and a photograph and detailed plan of the utility 'prefab'. The folding plan shows an impression of the proposed Liverpool Civic Centre based on St. George's Hall. The text includes 'Into Germany', extracts from despatches from J. Illingworth. Scarce, especially in this condition, and a rare survival. (Book ref. 13161)
