London 490pp + index + 49 hand coloured copper plates + two large folding maps by T. Kitchen. Folio. 1st ed. Very fine in contemporary full calf with new spine and label. Small repair to strengthen margin of one map and three worm holes in lower margin of many pages. The hand colouring is in pale pastel done probably at a somewhat later date and is most attractive. An important work containing fine illustrations of local flora and fauna. This first edition includes a large folding map of 'A correct draught of the harbours of Port Royal and Kingston with the Keys and Shoals adjacent &c from a late accurate survey by Mr Richd Jones Engineer.'
