Light damp staining to end pages otherwise clean in fine modern half calf binding with marbled boards. Gardiner commanded a detachment of Marines at St Pierre, Martinique, and again at the siege of Guadeloupe, publishing this account on his return. The British joint task force was repulsed at Martinique in January, 1759, but took Guadeloupe after a protracted campaign lasting from February to April of that year. A rare work. Sabin 26628.
