London: John Osborn and Thomas Longman, 1730. 2nd. Full-Leather. Good. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall The second edition of Dugdale's famous work. Printed in 2 volumes with 5 maps by Beighton. Old speckled leather covered boards, splitting down front joints of both vols. Tear to the leather on the rear board of vol 1. Wer ar to the head of the spine of vol 2. Armorial bookplate of Sir William Beauchamp Proctor. Tips of corners torn off pages 21/2, 95/6 and 329/330 in vol 1, but all clear of the text. Thin area to the paper on the plate facing page 110. In vol 2 the plate of Edgbaston Hall has the title just trimmed. Occasional staining. ESTC T127054. Very heavy books - will require extra postage, they come in their own custom made carrying case which is covered in scuffed leather. (Book ref. 006914)

Old lworn eather covered boards, rebacked, but retaining the old spines. Anonymous armorial bookplate. A few ink notes of names to the text. A couple of tears to the outer corners of leaves in vol 1. A paper fault causes a hole affecting the page number p455/6 in vol 1. Vol 2 has pages 1085-8 duplicated,but nothing is missed out. Some damp staining to the lower outer corner of vol 1. London: Sold by E Williams, Bookseller to the Duke and Duchess of York, No 11, Strand; John Walker, No 44 Paternoster Row; and John Hatchard, No 190 Picadilly, 1813. Half leather. Good. Signed by Author [iii]-xcvii, [iii], 3 folding plates, 224 pages. Lacks half title. Lacks the portrait, but with the extra engraved title page. Ink number to the head of the title page, and to the front pastedown - Dup 229. Numbered paper label to the spine. Armorial bookplate to the front pastedown of John William Willis Bund, also his small book label - Wick Episcopi Library. Bound in late 19th century half leather, now very worn to the spine edges which are split, the front board is held by cords. Lightly browned, spotting and a few stains. Creasing towards the rear of the book. The plates all have some offsetting. The first plate has a tear in the upper section, but is signed in ink to the foot - OW Serres 39[?] presumably by the author. The other two plates are not signed. Olivia Wilmot Serres went on to claim that she was the legitimate daughter of the Duke of Cumberland and was know as Princess Olive. Rev Wilmot and his niece lived at the Rectory at Barton on the Heath in south Warwickshire (Book ref. 003199)

Stratford: W.H. Bloomfield, 1926. Original Cloth. Good. Privately printed. This copy has 5 Christmas cards from A.C. Hands pasted in, 1927 - 1931, one with photograph of him and his daughter. Also includes photograph of author at age of 82 and related and general Stratford and Shakespeare cuttings pasted in as well. Bound in original red cloth with embossed gilt lettering, slight wear and fading. Cuttings browned. (Book ref. 000107)

Plate based on the Buck print was once too long and has been folded, but edge is very creased and there is some damage just into the edge of the image itself. Final plate, the Abbey gate, has a tear to the margin. In original paper wrappers, rather worn and tears to rear. Old lot number partially removed from front cover which is lithographically printed with text and illustration of Mortimer's tower. Paper spine, torn. A few marks and a little creasing to contents. Pages measure 220 x 365mm. (Book ref. 001393)

Bound in half leather with cloth covered boards. The spines have been neatly replaced at some point. Gilt design and title embossed on the front board of each volume. Bookplate to the front pastedown of Rev Fred Leigh Colvile, author of the Worthies of Warwickshire, a later bookplate opposite. The usual spotting and browning to the plates and adjoining pages, heavy in places. (Book ref. 006718)

Paper over the front inner hinge splitting. Originally a lecture at the village Reading room at Stoneleigh later "published in deference to the desire of kind friends".
