They are in their original rare first editions, and provide first-hand documentation both of the innovative links and the power struggles between Korea and other neighboring countries (such as Japan and China) and England. They show the origins of complex evolving inter-relationships that were to become very important to the international development of the region and continue to be so. As well as Reports on explorative journeys, treaties, and military confrontations, the collection includes Reports on cotton, gold, sugar, minerals &c. Further reports include details on shipping, commercial and military treaties, ports, and extensive details of international relations with Korea and China - and many others. All the Papers are in very good condition and are stitched as issued. Any exceptions are noted in individual descriptions.
